WHY WE BUILT EPKit
You finish a song you're proud of. You play a show that goes well. Then someone with an opportunity asks for your press kit, and you scramble. A few links here, an old photo there, a bio you wrote two years ago and never touched again. You send it and hope. Most of the time you never hear back, and you never find out why.
Here's the thing. You might not even be familiar with a press kit. Most artists aren't.
What you actually want is one place to send someone the moment they're interested in booking you, or the moment a friend wants to pass you to someone who can. Somewhere that shows what you do right away and makes it easy to say yes. That's not your socials. You can't control what the algorithm decides to show, so you can't count on the right thing landing at the right moment. And it's not your website, which is really there for your fans. This is for the person deciding whether to book you.
We built EPKit for two reasons that have always belonged together. We'd watched that scramble would cost good artists real opportunities, year after year. And we believed every artist, especially someone just starting out, deserves a place to stand online. A professional home you can claim with confidence and keep consistent, without needing design skills or a budget to pull it off.
WHERE EPKit COMES FROM
EPKit started in 2018 as EPKvault, a free tool two longtime music industry pros built because they loved this work and believed musicians deserved it.
Between us we carry more than thirty years in this industry, behind the scenes, on the road, and across the table from the people who book, program, write about, and sign artists. We've seen how those decisions get made. We've also seen how often a strong artist gets passed over for a simple reason: the materials made the choice too hard, or there was no clear, current place to point anyone to at all.
EPKit is EPKvault grown up. Same philosophy. Always looking ahead.
WHAT EPKit IS NOW
A clean, professional [electronic press kit](https://www.epkit.blog/post/what-is-an-epk-and-why-every-musician-needs-one), a home for your music you can build in minutes and share with a single link. It's free for every artist. Not a trial. Not a teaser. Free.
Once you connect your Spotify, YouTube, and Bandsintown, your EPK keeps itself current. New music, new videos, and new tour dates show up on their own, so the page an industry professional opens reflects where you are right now, not where you were six months ago. Your profile photo stays in step with your streaming profiles.
EPKit also writes you a bio in three lengths to start from, so you're not staring at a blank page.
And when you send your EPK, you're not left guessing. Pitch tracking shows you who's looking. You see when your link was opened and when someone spent real time with your music, so following up becomes a decision instead of a shot in the dark.
THE HONEST PART
We'll be straight with you about the rest. This is an unpredictable business. There's no formula that turns a great EPK into a yes. What's within reach is an EPK that looks sharp, stays current, and holds steady every time someone looks. That part you can control, from your very first release. EPKit exists to make that part simple. If you've been putting this off because it felt like too much, you can have one today.
